Journey
I wish you sunshine on your path and storms to season your journey.
I wish you peace in the world in which you live...
More I cannot wish you except perhaps love to make all the rest worthwhile.

Colorless World
When I sing, I don't want them to see that my face is black.
I don't want them to see that my face is white.
I want them to see my soul. And that is colorless.

For the Victims of Virginia Tech
When I heard of what had happened to the students of Virginia Tech ...I was stunned. How horrific of an act to such innocent lives. Many prayers will be said for the 32 victims and for their families but yet nothing will ever be the same. They are gone forever.
How did no one see it coming?? How did the teachers, professors, faculty, physicians, psychologists, family members not see that this individual , Virginia Tech gunman Cho Seung-Hui, was in need of serious help. He fell through the cracks in so many ways and .... in the end cost the lives of many. How is it that an individual that had to seek psychological help after being accused of stalking and harassing two women and was taken to a psychiatric hospital on a magistrate's orders, was considered possible suicidal, was later able to purchase a gun?
Reading the two plays that Cho wrote clearly spells out the fact that he was in need of serious help. He even sent to NBC studios numerous pictures , video clips of himself saying : "You have vandalized my heart, raped my soul and torched my conscience. "You thought it was one pathetic boy's life you were extinguishing. Thanks to you, I die like Jesus Christ, to inspire generations of the weak and the defenseless people."
Its a sad story ... a horrific one ... and something must be done.

American Idol Joke
As an great Idol fan for several seasons, I am so dissapointed with this one. The top 12 are really just 3 and the fact of having Sanjaya tag along as a joke is just plain sad. I think its clearly obvious that he deserves to end his time with IDOL yet I believe americans are voting for him as a cruel joke to keep him on. Lets stop making a mockery of a young guy that really doesnt have talent and lets at least keep the remaining half decent performers in the show. What the hell .... AMERICA WAKE UP its a SINGING COMPETITION!

America's Next Doctors!
Hello everyone .. Today I thought of helping out some fellow medical students in their journey towards becoming AMERICA"S NEXT DOCTOR! Its an overwhelming process but definitely one worth doing. I don't have any physicians in my family so being the first one was tough. There are a lot of things to be learned and discovered as a first timer going through the process. Medical school is a 4 year graduate school , which means you first need to finish your bachelors degree. Then you must complete the MCAT exam http://www.aamc.org/students/mcat/start.htm. Once you have completed this admission exam you are ready to apply to medical schools. To apply to medical school you must complete your application via http://www.aamc.org/students/amcas/start.htm <--a centralized application service for all US medical schools. ..... once you are accepted you begin your medical school education . Usually medical schools are broken down into 2 years of actual classroom curriculum and 2 years of clinical (in the hospital) experience. The great thing is that you get a tast of all the different fields of medicine before you decide which one is right for you. .... Its not over ..... Once you have completed medical school you apply for a position as a resident at a hospital via ERAS http://www.aamc.org/students/eras/about/start.htm. Depending on the program and specialty ...each is a bit different you submit your application to : THe National Residency Match Program (NRMP) http://www.nrmp.org/ <--- Which is a kinda like a lottery system but much more complicated. Putting in their words......"The National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) is a private, not-for-profit corporation established in 1952 to provide a uniform date of appointment to positions in graduate medical education (GME) in the United States. " One special day usually in March is assigned as "MATCH DAY" and across the US Medical student graduates find out which hospital has hired them to work as a resident . Its soooo excting! I wish all of you great luck in succeeding in your future endeavors. Any questions please feel free to leave a comment so that I may help you. There is also a great forum for medical students with great information to offer http://forums.studentdoctor.net/index.php .

I pray for you soldiers
Today I ran into this very touching article and I thought I would share it with you readers who feel this war should end.
"The portrait is just one of a much larger series Berman shot on assignment for People magazine showing Marine Sgt. Ty Ziegel's recovery, homecoming and wedding day. Berman was sent to Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas to meet Ty, and his fiancée, Renee Kline. At the time, Ty was 24 and Renee wasn't quite 21. The two had been high school sweethearts and were engaged before Ty's second tour in Iraq. But in 2004, Ty's tour was cut short when a suicide bomber blew up near his truck during a routine patrol. The searing heat melted most of the skin off Ty's body and left him blind in one eye. His skull was so badly shattered that doctors had to replace it with plastic. Ty was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center, where he underwent 19 surgeries. Berman completed the series over the course of three separate visits, first chronicling Ty's convalescence, and then, following his release, the couple's marriage in late 2006. ..."

Washington Gold Dollar !

Well well well ...I finally got my hands on the new Washington Dollar Coins ! I went searching the local banks and was lucky to find that my Bank of America had them...and yes I got the last $150 dollars worth of coins. In the recent years my passion for coin collecting has peaked. I really got into it with the collection of the state quarters and now this .... the dollar collection. So I looked through my rolls hoping to find some special mint error that be worth an extra $$ buck of two... i searched and searched not really sure what i was looking for and I came upon this. A BENT DOLLAR COIN ???? Is it worth anything extra?? Is it something special ??? Like I said I only started seriously collecting a few years now so I am no expert. I will definitely do some research or perhaps someone can contact me with their expertise. Here are the pics for my treasure hunting !

My Brothers Wedding
Well well well .... if it isnt my little brother Mark to be the first of 14 cousins to get married . I am sooo happy for him because he really found himself a sweet girl Giovanna. She is a real Italian girl from a small town in Benevento . THe same town where my mother is from. They have been together for over 7 years . wow ! considering my brother is 26 now. So they have decided to get married in the small town of Pontelandolfo <> at the church where my parents got married. Now that is one full circle ... its going to be soo emotional. The other day we flipped through my parents wedding album and ...looked at all the details of this really beautiful old church. Its going to be amazing.
They are having the reception in a ctiy nearby at this beautiful restuarant VILLA ROSA. http://www.ristorantevillarosa.it/ By the looks of the catalogue it looks really nice , its all yellow decor just like Giovanna's roses she is using in her bouquet. I think its important to coordinate the place with your wedding colors. I sometimes see these reception halls where the colors are way too strong. I think they should have soft colors that easily match with any events colors. (my opinion! ) So June 7th , 2007 is the date!! Everything is pretty much picked out ...and i try to give a hand here and there ... We had a great bridal shower for Giovanna last month. I will post the pics next time. I cant wait to go to ITALY!!!!! ....
